Old Dad Part 1
Summer 2020, local park, pushing The Lads around in the sunshine.
I get chatting to another man with a pram and a little girl about the same age as The Lads. We stand by the lake pointing at the ducks. Like you do.
It doesn't take us long to establish that we're almost exactly the same age and share many cultural references. It's a very pleasant diversion and the children are asleep, evidently unmoved by the ducks.
"So how old are your boys?" he asks.
"10 months. How old's yours?" " Same, but she isn't mine - she's my granddaughter."
